Case study · flower studio · Valencia, Spain

Before: «see what's trending and make a reel». After: a trend that actually works with her footage.

Yuliia runs Jardín Creativo, a flower studio in Valencia. Earlier that day we had made her a showcase Reel from 10 bouquet videos, and she asked for one more: «see what's trending in my niche right now». Nothing new was filmed. The point here is not the editing but an honest trend check: find what is taking off for florists right now and pick what can really be built from her shots.

Before and after

On the left, the chat: the videos Yuliia sent for the first Reel and the new task in one line. On the right, the Reel we built on the trend (in Spanish, for her customers in Valencia).

Nothing new was filmed: the same 10 videos and one message

  • The same 10 videos as for the first Reel, nothing re-shot
  • Every bouquet already faces the camera flowers first
  • One message: no topic, no format, no text
  • A second Reel from the same shots had to be something else entirely
After
  • The «test for him» format, number two among florist trends worldwide
  • The hook «Envíaselo a él. ¿Sabe qué ramo quieres?»
  • 8 numbered bouquets, 2 seconds each
  • The ending «¿Cuál es el tuyo? Escribe el número» on the same shot as the start: the Reel loops
  • Yuliia got an explanation of why this format and what to film for trend number one

How we checked the trends

People often ask for «something trending», and the easy way is to copy the first popular video. We don't: the trend has to be verified, come from your niche and work with the footage you have.

Our first draft, a fast cut at one second per shot, we rejected ourselves before sending it: the idea came from reels in other niches, not from florists. Yuliia never saw it.

Why this Reel works

Raw footage sells nothing on its own. What sells is a Reel that gives a reason to keep watching from the first second, a story people want to watch to the end, and a clear next step for the viewer. We build every Reel, post and carousel from these three parts, so the content works for requests, not for show.

The format came from the trend; the hook, the order of the bouquets and the call to action were built for Yuliia's studio.

01 · Hook

A challenge people want to forward

CuriosityProvocationFOMOShock numberViewer's painParadoxQuestion to the viewerPromise of benefit
Envíaselo a él. ¿Sabe qué ramo quieres? · «Send it to him. Does he know which bouquet you want?»

The hook doesn't talk to everyone, it talks to the woman who receives flowers and gives her a game: test your partner. «Does he know?» pulls people in because they want the answer.

Most important, the hook itself asks people to forward the Reel. Every forward carries the video to the partner, and he is the one who buys the bouquet. Flower ads rarely reach the buyer this directly.

02 · Storytelling

A catalogue of 8 numbers, closed into a loop

  1. Challenge. «Envíaselo a él», test him
  2. Choice. Nº 1 red roses, Nº 2 hydrangeas, Nº 3 the blue basket
  3. Build-up. Nº 4 peonies, Nº 5, Nº 6, Nº 7, a new bouquet every 2 seconds
  4. Last chance. Nº 8 delphiniums, the tallest bouquet
  5. Question. «¿Cuál es el tuyo? Escribe el número», which one is yours?
  6. Loop. the ending is the same shot as the start, and the Reel begins again

Numbers turn a row of bouquets into a game: she picks hers and watches to the end to see all eight. The tallest bouquet comes last so the choice doesn't end early.

The start and the end are one shot, Yuliia with two bouquets. When the Reel ends it quietly starts again, people watch it twice, and Instagram sees a Reel that is watched to the end and replayed.

03 · Call to action

One number in the comments and «I want number 4» by DM

«¿Cuál es el tuyo? Escribe el número» · @jardin_creativo_vlc

Typing one digit is easier than any word, so there are more comments, and for Instagram that is a strong signal to keep showing the Reel. Everyone who typed a number has already picked a bouquet.

The number works like a catalogue: «quiero el 4» by DM is almost an order, with no «which one exactly?». The caption holds the second step: «pide el tuyo por mensaje directo», order yours by DM.

What we did

  1. Checked the trends.Three searches across florists worldwide over three months; a trend only counts if at least two florists use it.
  2. Dropped trend number one.The bouquet flip can't be built from her videos: the bouquets already face the camera. We didn't fake it.
  3. Took trend number two.«The test for him» is built from 8 different bouquets and asks people to forward the Reel to the buyer.
  4. Built the loop. The hook and the final question on one shot, 8 numbered bouquets of 2 seconds each in between, cuts on the beat.
  5. Music and sound.Original royalty-free music. A trending sound from the Instagram library can't be baked into the file, so we suggested one to add in the app: «Flowers» by Miley Cyrus.
  6. Explained it to Yuliia. Why this format, which trends it stands on, why not the flip, and how to film so the next Reel can follow trend number one. Plus a Spanish caption.

What we needed from the florist

One message. We already had the videos.

When you ask us to «follow the trends», we don't guess: we check what is taking off in your niche worldwide, take what can be built from your footage, and explain why.
